The Bluetooth Special Interest Group chose the Motorola MOTOACTV fitness device as its overall winner of the 2012 Bluetooth SIG Best of CES Awards last week.

Also announced by the Bluetooth SIG were the three winners of its Now, New and Next categories at the CES show.

ExclusiveSamsung reportedly planning to merge bada with Tizen

It’s reported that Samsung is working on merging its own bada mobile operating system with the Tizen OS.

Samsung announced bada just over two years ago, while Tizen is a newer Linux-based open source project with development led by a technical steering group composed of Intel and Samsung.

giffgaff, the virtual mobile network created by O2 in the UK, has admitted that its unlimited mobile data service is unsustainable in some instances.

The MVNO notes that less than 1% of users account for over a third of its total mobile internet data use; a figure that has parallels with recent research by Arieso.

ExclusiveMotorola hasn't infringed Apple patents, says ITC

Yesterday, a preliminary ruling from the US International Trade Commission ruled that Motorola hadn’t infringed three Apple patents.

Apple’s original complaint was filed in October 2010 and was notable because one of the patents covered multipoint ‘multi-touch’ touchscreen use.
