ExclusiveRIM acquires video editing service JayCut

Online video editing service JayCut has become part of Research In Motion.

In a blog post, JayCut CEO Jonas Hombert said "After spending time with RIM's CEO Mike Lazaridis as well as the founders of The Astonishing Tribe, an amazing group of creative individuals that was acquired by RIM in January, I could see that we would fit in well with them."

We've had a week packed with financial figures. Microsoft, Vodafone and Qualcomm were all relatively upbeat with their quarterly results. A 'thrilled' Apple shipped over 20 million iPhones in yet another record quarter, while Nokia shipped less than 17 million smartphones (and almost 72 million other mobile phones) in its 'disappointing' quarter.

ExclusiveBarcelona named as the mobile capital of the world

The GSMA - the mobile operator trade organisation - has chosen Barcelona as the Mobile World Capital from 2012 to 2018. Barcelona has beaten Milan, Munich and Paris in the final vote.

This means it'll host the GSMA Mobile World Congress (as it has done for several years) and will also develop a range of other activities throughout the year.
