More than three billion applications have been downloaded from BlackBerry App World since it launched in 2009. That’s an average of over 2.5 million downloads to smartphones and tablets each day, although usage has increased significantly during the past three years.
The first million downloads from the application store took 786 days, the second million happened after a further 210 days and the three billion figure was reached 176 days later.
BlackBerry App World currently has more than 90,000 applications up for sale from 28,000 vendors.
