Reports about mobile phone calls cause an increase in blood pressure

I was on the radio for a few minutes this morning. Nick Ferrari on LBC 97.3 FM was talking to me about a recent survey that noted a rise in blood pressure when people received calls on their mobile phones. As I waited to go on-air, a producer asked me what I thought. “Storm in a teacup”, I said. Well, it seemed better than “Makes my blood boil”.

HP announces a convertible Android tablet

It’s called the HP SlateBook x2 and was revealed alongside a convertible Windows-based computer.

Telefonica to offer direct mobile billing via the Samsung Apps store

Telefónica Digital and Samsung Electronics have announced a global deal that’ll add direct mobile billing to the Samsung Hub and Samsung Apps services.

It means that Telefonica customers will be able to charge the price of apps and other content to their mobile phone bill.

50 billion apps downloaded from the Apple App Store

Customers have downloaded more than 50 billion apps from the Apple App Store since the service launched in July 2008, according to a new announcement from the company.

Current download rates have reached 2 billion mobile apps per month… or more than 800 apps every second.

LG creates secure 'bring your own device' version of Optimus Vu smartphone in USA

LG Electronics has created a version of its Android-based Optimus Vu smartphone that offers business users a secure device without affecting their personal information.

It’s based on the US version of the Optimus Vu - known as the Intuition - and has been created in partnership with Verizon Wireless and VMWare.
