ExclusiveHP announces annual results and launches investigation into Autonomy acquisition

HP has announced financial results for its financial year, which ended on 31st October 2012. Net revenue was down 5% year-on-year to $120.4 billion (£75.6 billion), with the company making a $12.7 billion loss. Last year, HP made $7.1bn profit.

The company noted that it had recorded a one-off charge of approximately $8.8 billion related to Autonomy in the fourth quarter.

ExclusiveO2 UK helps brands add augmented reality to their marketing campaigns

Telefónica Digital has announced a global partnership with augmented reality platform Aurasma that’ll see AR technology becoming one of the media services offered to Telefonica’s advertising partners.

The agreement will start in the UK with O2 Media helping brands integrate augmented reality with their marketing campaigns alongside other technologies such as location-based marketing and mobile coupons.

ExclusiveHP restructuring will see 27,000 jobs cut worldwide

HP, the world’s largest technology company, has announced what it’s calling a ‘multi-year productivity initiative’.

The restructuring scheme is expected to save up to $3.5 billion by the end of the 2014 financial year and will see around 27,000 employees leaving.

ExclusiveHP chooses Meg Whitman as President and Chief Executive Officer

HP, which describes itself as the world’s largest technology company, has appointed Meg Whitman as president and chief executive officer. She’s replacing Léo Apotheker, who became president/CEO last November.

In addition, non-executive chairman Ray Lane has become executive chairman of the board of directors.
