Vodafone Group has split its European operations into two new operating regions; Northern & Central Europe and Southern Europe. Philipp Humm has been appointed as Chief Executive for Northern & Central Europe with effect from October, while Paolo Bertoluzzo is the new Chief Executive of Southern Europe.

Philipp Humm is joining Vodafone from T-Mobile USA, where he’s been their President and CEO since 2010. He’ll be responsible for Vodafone operations in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Turkey, Ireland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Romania.

The Southern Europe region comprises Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Albania and Malta. It’ll be managed by Paolo Bertoluzzo, who will also continue in his role as Chief Executive of Vodafone Italy.

Vittorio Colao, Vodafone Group Chief Executive, said “Our new regional structure will underpin our strategy focused on meeting our customers’ long-term needs, and Paolo and Philipp will be strong additions to the Vodafone Group Executive Committee.”
