The debate about privacy and security continued in the wake of allegations about US agents intercepting internet traffic. Meanwhile, Nokia prepared to make its last Symbian smartphones and Tradedoubler warned that mobile devices were having a negative effect on high-street consumer loyalty.

Price comparison on mobile devices is damaging retail brand loyalty

New research from marketing company Tradedoubler shows that mobile devices are having a negative effect on high-street consumer loyalty.

The study found that 52% of online shoppers have at least one ‘performance marketing’ application on their mobile, with 32% using a price comparison app.

Amazon introduces an easier sign-in process for third-party mobile apps and web sites

Online retailer Amazon has launched a new service called 'Login with Amazon'.

It’ll let any Amazon customer log in to mobile apps, online games and other websites with their Amazon account details. Mobile developers and web site managers will be able to incorporate Login with Amazon to save customers from creating a separate account.
