Telefonica to offer direct mobile billing via the Samsung Apps store

Telefónica Digital and Samsung Electronics have announced a global deal that’ll add direct mobile billing to the Samsung Hub and Samsung Apps services.

It means that Telefonica customers will be able to charge the price of apps and other content to their mobile phone bill.

Google launches streaming music service in the USA

Google has used its annual Google I/O developer conference to reveal a new streaming music subscription service called Google Play Music All Access.

At the moment it’s just available in the USA and will cost $9.99 per month, although early adopters receive a $2 discount. Customers can store up to 20,000 of their own songs and listen to them alongside millions of online tracks.

Samsung develops 5G technology using millimetre wave bands

It’s developed the world’s first adaptive array transceiver technology that uses millimetre-wave Ka bands for mobile communications. This offers new opportunities for what could become fifth-generation (5G) mobile devices.

ITV launches new Android version of catch-up TV application with exclusive Samsung deal

UK commercial television broadcaster ITV has announced a new version of its catch-up television player for Android devices.

The free ITV Player app offers access to the last thirty days of content across ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV channels. However, unlike previous versions it’s only available for selected Samsung smartphones and tablets.
