Yes, Apple’s new $799 128GB iPad didn’t get much of a mention in the mobile press last week - thanks to the new BlackBerry 10 platform and two new smartphones. Memories of Stephen Bates’s awkward BBC interviews were soon forgotten as the touchscreen Z10 appeared and quickly hit the shelves of UK retailers.

Three UK says it’ll be adding 4G connectivity to all its existing price plans and won’t be charging any extra for the faster service.
Customers with a compatible phone will be able to enjoy a 4G connection from Three as soon as it is available.

The possibility of monthly charges rising during a fixed-term mobile phone contract has resulted in a complaint being upheld against a Three UK advertisement.
Because the network reserved the right to increase charges in line with inflation during the minimum term, the UK Advertising Standards Authority has ruled that referring to a fixed monthly amount was misleading.

BT, MLL and PCCW bidding alongside major mobile networks
Ofcom has announced the companies that have applied to bid in the UK’s 4G mobile spectrum auction, which will start in January next year.
There are seven companies bidding to operate 4G mobile services in the UK.
