LG Electronics has published its quarterly results for the three-month period ending 30th June 2011.
After two consecutive quarters of losses, LG made a net profit of 108 billion Korean Won and an operating profit of KRW 158 billion (£91 million). Revenue for Q2 2011 was up 9.3% from the previous quarter to KRW 14.4 trillion.

The LG Optimus 3D, which was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, has been officially launched today.
It'll arrive in Europe first, with availability in more than 60 markets around the world to follow over the next several weeks. The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy will have exclusive rights for the UK launch.

The International Data Corporation has reported that the worldwide mobile phone market grew 19.8% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2011, with smartphones gaining in popularity. A total of 371.8 million mobile devices were shipped in Q1 of 2011, compared with 310.5 million units in the first quarter of 2010.
In terms of overall market share, Nokia remained in the lead with 29.2%, followed by Samsung, LG, Apple and ZTE.

LG Electronics has announced financial results for the three-month period ending 31st March 2011.
In a statement, the company said "stronger operating profits reflected successful cost-reduction efforts and steady performance in all four business units". It expects to see more growth thanks to its LG Optimus smartphones and its 3D televisions.
