New information from mobile app analytics platform App Annie suggests that Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Turkey and India are the next growth markets for players in the mobile app industry to watch.

It says the mobile infrastructure and rate of development in these countries is creating significant new opportunities for app publishers.

Mobile content and commerce organisation MEF has published the results of its Global Consumer Trust report for 2014. The study, which looks at privacy, transparency and security concerns, was carried out in partnership with online security company AVG Technologies.

According to the report, the single largest obstacle to purchasing goods and services via a mobile device is trust.

MEF, the global trade association for companies engaged in mobile content and commerce, has revealed its mobile industry predictions for the next 12 months.

Its forecast combines insights from the group’s Global Board of Directors with research from the recent Global Mobile Consumer Survey.

Mobile content and commerce group MEF has published its third annual mobile consumer survey, which involved 10,000 respondents from 13 countries.

It notes that the number of purchases via mobile devices has fallen for the first time, from 54% of mobile media users last year to 42% in 2013, but the value of individual purchases is going up.

Over 71% of app revenue generated by the Apple App Store and Google Play comes from games, according to a new survey from MEF and Distimo.

Apple leads in terms of revenue: 65% of global app revenue comes from its App Store.

The area of Location based services (LBS) has been getting a lot of attention of late, and it’s no wonder, Juniper Research has highlighted that the Mobile Context and Location Services market is expected to generate revenue of $43.4 billion by 2019, up from $12.2 billion in 2014.
