Vodafone UK introduces 'data test drive' to help customers find the best tariff

Vodafone UK is introducing a new data deal for customers buying a smartphone. Its ‘Data Test Drive’ lets customers use the internet as much as they like with no additional charges for the first three months of their contract.

They’re then sent a text message summarising their use. If they’ve exceeded the data allowance on their chosen tariff, they’re offered the option of adding a higher data allowance to their price plan. This higher allowance can be removed later if it’s no longer required.

The Data Test Drive is available on most tariffs except SIM-only deals, mobile broadband services and price plans that don’t have any inclusive data allowance.

Srini Gopalan, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK, said “The latest smartphones allow people to do more with their mobile phone than ever before. We want customers to really play with their new handset and Data Test Drive will give them the confidence to find the apps they love and features they will use regularly. When you combine the freedom to experiment with your phone with the capability and reliability of the UK’s best network, you have a winning combination for any smartphone user.”
