Increased mobile usage prompts review of premium-rate services

Ofcom has launched a review into Premium Rate Services (PRS); telephone-based services that cost more than a standard telephone call and are charged to a customer’s phone bill or pre-pay mobile account. It says an increase in mobile phone usage – including increased mobile usage by children - has led to a strong increase in mobile PRS usage and mobile PRS-related complaints. [Summary; pdf review document]
