New UK and Ireland MD for Samsung Electronics

Andrew Griffiths has been appointed as the new UK and Ireland managing director for Samsung Electronics. He replaces David Song, who is moving to the company’s PC business.

Mr Griffiths had previously been vice president of Consumer Electronics at Samsung UK and Ireland. He’ll be working with Jy Kim, who has been appointed to the new role of deputy managing director.

At the same time, Samsung’s mobile unit is being reorganised to include Samsung’s networks business. Samsung Mobile, which will continue to be managed by Simon Stanford, is now called Samsung Telecommunications and Networks.
