TomTom navigation coming to Acer smartphones

Navigation and mapping specialist TomTom has agreed a multi-year deal with technology manufacturer Acer. It’s powering a new navigation application called ‘AcerNAV’ that’ll be available on Acer smartphones.

Users will be able to download any TomTom map free of charge, with the option of route planning and turn-by-turn navigation instructions to any destination.

Charles Cautley, Managing Director of TomTom Licensing, said “We are delighted to be working together with Acer to bring its users both our mapping content and navigation software. TomTom is committed to providing the highest quality maps and navigation software to our customers, enabling them to deliver their own fully customisable mobile, turn-by-turn navigation application to end users.”

Acer will begin rolling out the software in Europe by the end of this year.
