BBC Radio 1 promoting 'free Picture Messaging Day' next Friday

Friday 11th December will be Picture Messaging Day for BBC Radio 1. Sending pictures from a mobile phone to the radio station's messaging number (81199) will be free for UK customers on that day. It's part of Radio 1's 'Access All Areas' week and has been created in partnership with the Mobile Data Association. The MDA has also launched a website at http://www.getsettings.org to help people set up multimedia messaging on older handsets and SIM-only contracts.

The offer is available to customers in the UK on the 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Vodafone and Virgin Media networks. It excludes pictures sent from Eire, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
