Nokia needs to transform – but doesn't plan to sell its factories

German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche has now published its full interview with Nokia's Anssi Vanjoki. Excerpts released at the weekend quoted Mr Vanjoki as saying "one should never say never" to Nokia selling its manufacturing business to focus on software. However, although he says Nokia needs to transform itself, he also says Nokia's factories and global logistics network give it a competitive advantage.

Nokia has confirmed it has no plans to sell its manufacturing plants. A strategy update meeting is planned for Wednesday, so this may not be the last we've heard about the subject. [Sources: Reuters.com; BWCS.com]
