Orange shows a future where your car key is a smartphone app

Orange is exhibiting current and future motoring-related mobile phone technology at the 2010 Paris Motor Show from tomorrow.

It's displaying the Speed’R concept car, which has been designed in partnership with the ESPERA Sbarro School of Design. Described as "a real car of the future", the Speed'R is equipped with the Orange Domino mobile WiFi device and a Tabbee touch screen tablet.

There's also a demonstration of the Valeo NFC Access System concept, which allows several drivers to 'share' a virtual key to a single car. It uses Near Field Communication technology for keyless access along with an on-line diary that will authorise a user and allow them to start the car using their mobile phone.
