Samsung lets you share what you're watching from TV to mobile

Samsung Electronics has revealed a ‘Smart View’ mobile app that lets users watch content from their Samsung Smart TV on their Samsung mobile phone. It works by using a home WiFi network to display content from the Samsung Smart TV on the mobile device’s screen. The app will display regular TV shows, DVDs and video from any other device connected to the TV.

Guy Kinnell, Marketing Director for TV at Samsung UK, said “As the UK’s leading TV brand, we deliver the best in technology and innovation, and Smart View is one such development which will see us continue to lead the TV market. Samsung Smart TV is leading the ‘smart revolution’ not only with the features of Smart TV itself—such as rich content, 2D and 3D picture quality, smart functions and design—but also with input devices using our Qwerty smart remote control, the Samsung Remote app, and now with Smart View.”

Samsung Smart View is available in the Android Market for the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone in conjunction with the Samsung Smart TV D7000 and D8000 series. The app will be available for the Galaxy player, Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab later this year.
