will.i.am announces new wearable communications device

Puls is described as a cuff, not a watch

Musician and entrepreneur will.i.am has announced a new wearable communication device called Puls.

Described as a ‘cuff’ rather than a smartwatch, Puls is voice-controlled and will contain its own SIM card. Exclusive launch deals have been arranged with O2 in the UK and AT&T in the USA, although dates and pricing haven’t been confirmed.

As well as the voice-controlled feature (called ‘Aneeda’ and powered by Nuance), Puls will include a camera and its own email, contacts, music and fitness apps, along with connectivity for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Salesforce.

Specifications include 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Two years ago will.i.am announced an iPhone accessory - the i.am+ foto.sosho - that enhanced the camera features on an iPhone 4 or 4S.
