Mobile social networking up 249% in the UK

Consumer research company Nielsen Online has just published a report on social networking. Of all the countries surveyed, it's the UK's mobile web users who are most likely to visit a social network through their mobile phone. 23% of UK mobile web users (1.96 million people) visited a social network on their mobile in Q4 2008, compared to 19% in the US (10.6 million people). Incidentally, that's a 249% year-on-year increase in the UK. [Nielsen Online pdf]
