Symbian plans new OS update every six months

The open-source Symbian Foundation says it'll release a new mobile device operating system update every six months for the next few years, starting with Symbian^2 this year. Symbian^2 devices could be on sale at the end of this year, with Symbian^3 being complete by the end of 2009 and in devices for mid-2010. [Symbian blog]
