Google CEO quits Apple

Google’s CEO, Dr Eric Schmidt, has resigned from Apple’s board of directors after three years with the company. As Steve Jobs pointed out in the press release, Google’s move into the mobile phone business means that Eric Schmidt is suffering an ever-increasing potential conflict of interests. “Therefore”, Steve says, “we have mutually decided that now is the right time for Eric to resign his position on Apple’s Board”.
