SpinVox offers free voicemail conversion for UK users

Voice-to-text service SpinVox is offering its SpinVox Voicemail service free to UK customers for the rest of 2009. The offer, which is available to people with ‘pay monthly’ mobile phones, delivers messages by email – not as SMS text messages, which is what the company has previously offered as a chargeable service.

Interestingly, SpinVox makes a point of saying that “conversion may be assisted by human agents for quality control purposes” and suggests that users may want to mention this in their personalised voicemail message.

The company made some unwelcome headlines last month; we talked about the problems in our podcast on 29th July and also in the Opinion section of our blog. [SpinVox promo]
