Mobile broadband still disappoints, says report

Back in June we reported that UK mobile broadband speeds were significantly slower than advertised. Broadband benchmarking company Epitiro found that UK mobile broadband users received on average just 24% of advertised download speeds, with web browsing 34% slower than equivalent fixed-line ADSL broadband services.

Well, it’s not got any better. A new survey by Broadband-Expert.co.uk says we’re still just getting 24% of the maximum advertised speed. Mobile network 3 was the first to respond, explaining how it always tells customers that maximum theoretical speeds are not the connection speeds actually experienced... and emphasising that mobile broadband also involves access, convenience and mobility as well as speed.
