Best Buy creates apps in the USA; will Carphone Warehouse follow?

Electronics retailer Best Buy has announced a number of initiatives designed to increase its mobile sales in the USA, including a relationship with Google to create several mobile applications. The first app is expected by the end of October and will help consumers find the nearest Best Buy store stocking their chosen product. Other applications specifically for the Android operating system are also planned. No details were given about which – if any – of the US initiatives would be introduced in the UK by Best Buy’s partner, The Carphone Warehouse. [Sources: Forbes.com; Twice.com]
