Over 4,000 illicit mobiles seized in California prisons

In our podcast on 23rd September we mentioned that 4,132 mobile phones had been seized from UK prisoners in the 12 months to the end of March 2009. Now comes a report from the USA that says a similar number of mobiles have been confiscated in California this year. 4,130 mobiles have been seized from inmates in the state’s prisons, which is more than the total of the previous three years.
