Kia announces integrated in-car mobile technology

Kia Motors America has announced Kia UVO ('Your Voice'), a multimedia and infotainment interface that's been co-developed with Microsoft. UVO is a touchscreen and hands-free solution that allows drivers and passengers to answer and place phone calls, receive and respond to SMS text messages and access music from via voice controls. The system can also receive over-the-air updates and is capable of calling the emergency services after an accident where the airbags are activated. UVO will debut this summer in the new Kia Sorento, although – like the Ford Sync system – it'll only be available in the USA.
