Data traffic from embedded SIMs to increase 12-fold within six years

A new report from ABI Research says mobile data traffic from computing devices with 'embedded' mobile capability is likely to increase 12-fold within six years. By 2014, the total number of bytes sent each month is expected to equal the total traffic from 2008. ABI Research estimates that nearly 7,900 petabytes of data will be sent in 2014; 90% of this will be from laptops and netbooks.

A petabyte is a million gigabytes.
