BroadSoft expands its Unified Communications portfolio with iLinc acquisition

IP communications specialist BroadSoft has acquired iLinc Communications, an Arizona-based business that provides web collaboration services. It’ll integrate iLinc’s tools into its own Unified Communications products, calling the new service BroadCloud Web Collaboration. This will enable BroadSoft’s customers to offer their own-branded web collaboration service.

Michael Tessler, chief executive officer at BroadSoft, said “Whether it is through strategic acquisitions or in-house development, we remain committed to offering an extensive, innovative range of unified communications services that empower global service providers to meet the evolving communication needs of their enterprise and consumer customers. With BroadCloud Web Collaboration our global service provider customers can now offer a branded, comprehensive web collaboration service at a competitive price with the goal of earning higher margins versus reselling other services.”

We spoke to Leslie Ferry, Vice President of Marketing at BroadSoft, in November 2010 and again at Mobile World Congress 2011. You can listen on our website, via iTunes or by downloading the MP3 file.
