BlackBerry update in UAE causes problems

We’ve recently reported on O2 Germany’s Toshiba virus and Symbian’s certified worm. Now comes news of a BlackBerry update in the United Arab Emirates last week that could have allowed unauthorised access to information on the device. The update was provided by telecoms firm Etisalat who suggested it would improve performance – but instead it degraded performance and sent received messages back to a central server.
