Finland, the Netherlands and Sweden have cheapest mobile calls

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development says Finland, the Netherlands and Sweden have the lowest prices for mobile phone calls among its 30 member countries. The highest mobile call charges were according found in Canada, Spain and the USA. The United Kingdom was slightly cheaper than average, according to the OECD’s ‘medium use’ comparison of 780 voice calls, 600 text messages and 8 MMS messages per month.

Its Communications Outlook report also says that mobile phone call prices fell on average by 21% for low usage consumers, 28% for medium usage and by 32% for high usage subscribers between 2006 and 2008. [News release]
