More free navigation on mobile phones

We already have free turn-by-turn navigation on mobile phones, thanks to Google Maps Navigation on Android devices and Ovi Maps on Symbian phones. Now Microsoft's getting involved, launching turn-by-turn navigation for Windows 6.x smartphones via Bing Maps. Sadly it's only available in the USA at the moment.

And that's not all. O2 is also launching free navigation for its mobile customers, although it's currently only being offered in Germany. Telefónica O2 Germany has partnered with Telmap Navigation for a system that'll work on a wide range of GPS-enabled mobile phones.
