More radio listeners now using mobiles

The latest Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR) figures reveal that radio listening via mobile phone has grown steadily in the last 12 months, with the fourth quarter of 2008 showing a year-on-year increase of 32%. This means that 12.3% of the UK population aged 15 and above has listened to the radio on their phone. Amongst 15 to 24-year-olds there's been an even steeper rise, with 31.1% now having listened to the radio in this way. 15.3% say they listen at least once a week and 2.9% say they listen every day.
