RIM publishes quarterly figures; now 46 million BlackBerry subscribers worldwide

BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion has published its Q1 2010 results. Net income for the quarter was $768.9 million (up around 20% year-on-year) and revenue was up 24% year-on-year to $4.24 billion, with BlackBerry shipments up 43% year-on-year to 11.2 million. This means that RIM has now shipped more than 100 million BlackBerry smartphones. There are now 46 million BlackBerry subscribers worldwide, an increase of around 60% during the past year.
