Virgin could launch national WiFi network

Virgin Media is considering the idea of creating its own public WiFi broadband network in the UK, according to a report on BrandRepublic.com.

The network, which would be a rival to BT Openzone, could take advantage of the infrastructure that delivers Virgin’s cable TV and broadband service. Virgin Media's fibre optic cable network currently reaches 12.6 million homes.
