Starbucks plans UK mobile payment app in January

It’s reported that Starbucks will launch an iPhone app for mobile payments in January next year. Customers who already have a prepaid Starbucks Card will be able to link the card to the app. The payment app doesn’t use NFC but will enable customers to pay for items in 700 coffee shops via an on-screen barcode.

A similar Starbucks app was launched in the USA earlier this year.
