New CEO for 'feelscreen' company Senseg

Senseg, the Finnish company that enables smartphone and tablet screens to offer different textures when touched, has appointed Paul Costigan as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr Costigan will be based in Senseg’s Taiwan headquarters.

Paul Costigan was previously the chief operating officer and Asia-Pacific region president for video processor business Movidius, although he’s probably best known as co-founder and CEO of fabless semiconductor firm Massana.

He said “There are very few opportunities to lead the growth of a revolutionary technology company, and Senseg provides that rare moment. I am thrilled to join such a talented group of individuals as we prepare to enter the market with innovations in the field of haptics that will transform the user experience with touch interface devices. By developing a fully-functional solution in a tablet form factor Senseg has reached an impressive milestone, yet considerable work remains before we’re ready for mass production. I look forward to ensuring that our solution meets OEM requirements, and developing the market for this new kind of touch sensation.”

We spoke to Senseg founder and CTO Ville Mäkinen at Mobile World Congress this year. You can listen to the interview (which starts after about 28 minutes) via the built-in audio player on our website or by downloading the MP3 file.
