Vodafone to expand its Middle East presence with Zain partnership

Vodafone Group has announced an agreement with the Kuwait-based Zain Group that will expand Vodafone’s presence in the Middle East and will also provide Zain customers with greater global support. Customers of both networks will benefit from enhanced coverage.

The deal will see Vodafone working with Zain companies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq to provide customers with communications services. In addition, Zain will have access to Vodafone-branded devices and services in its home markets.

Ravinder Takkar, CEO for Vodafone Partner Markets, said “Our agreement with Zain provides an opportunity for Vodafone to build its presence and work with a leading operator in the Middle East. By combining the geographical reach of our companies’ respective networks, we can strengthen and deepen the benefits to our customers operating in these large and dynamic markets. We are delighted that Zain has joined our successful Partner Market community, which increases to more than 50 markets worldwide with the addition of Zain’s Middle Eastern countries.”
