Will Java have the world's largest app store?

That seems to be the suggestion from Sun Microsystems CEO Jonathan Schwartz. Its JavaOne conference takes place next month… and it could be the place where Sun reveals an application store that’ll provide Java software for PCs, enterprise systems and mobile devices. The new service is currently called Project Vector (although it’ll probably be renamed the Java Store) and it’s designed to let companies connect with Java users – all one billion of them/us worldwide. As for the hows, the whens and the whos, we’ll have to wait until June’s JavaOne in San Francisco. [Java blog]
