Surveys say mobile phones better than most other things

Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal blog included details of two surveys that seem to show Americans prefer their mobiles to many other things.

Best Buy Mobile found that 60% of adults would rather give up alcohol for a week than give up their mobile for a week. 33% would rather ditch their TV than their phone, while 15% would rather have a filling at the dentist than live without their mobile handset.

And shoe retailer Zappos.com found that 31% of women ranked their mobile phone or PDA as more important than their spouse or hired help when it came to organising their life.
