Mobile industry rumours for September

The Bank Holiday weekend in the UK means it’s quieter than usual here, so we thought it was a good opportunity to look ahead to a few of next month’s events.

Nokia is hosting Nokia World 09 in Stuttgart on Wednesday and Thursday next week. It’s already started talking about Nokia Money, the N900 tablet and its new laptop-not-a-netbook device, although there’ll definitely be more news about these. We’re also expecting to hear about the Nokia N97 Mini; a smaller version of the flagship N97 device.

Apple has a special press conference the following week on Wednesday 9th September, although we don’t think we’ll see any iPhone innovation or any Apple Tablet computer news (but you can never say never with Apple). Instead it’ll probably be an iPod or iTunes event – possibly even iPods with cameras.

And the next day on 10th September there’s GigaOM’s Mobilize conference in San Francisco, when Motorola is expected to announced a couple of Android-powered smartphones.
