Just 1.4% of mobiles sold last year were operator branded

Research company IDC has published a report that looks at operator-branded mobile phones in Western Europe. It says 2.6 million operator-branded mobile phones were shipped in Western Europe last year, accounting for 1.4% of total unit shipments (and an approximate value of £340 million). The market is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 4.7% from 2008 to 2013 as sales of 'traditional' mobiles grow.
