3D mobile video and micro-payments for 2012 Olympics?

Boris Johnson, London's Mayor, has met with the chief executives of Vodafone and O2 in a bid to bring more mobile technology to the 2012 Olympic Games. The Times reports that he's asked Britain's mobile networks to introduce technology that will allow users to watch sporting highlights in 3D on their mobile phones. He also wants a 'micro-payment' service that will let people pay for coffee with their mobiles.

Mr Johnson said “I want Londoners and visitors alike to be buzzing with the excitement of the Games as they happen… and the key to achieving this is through the one item we never part with — our mobile phones.”
