Watch out for bill shock from mobile social networking, says Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson is warning that the amount of mobile data used when 'roaming' abroad is likely to increase this summer due to social media use. The company says the growing use of social networking services on smartphones could result in much higher roaming data usage as tourists continue to update their online status when they're abroad.

In a statement, Sony Ericsson said "consumers should be wary of the rates of these services, as it is likely that such usage could incur extra charges to their usual tariff. We would advise anyone using their phone abroad to double check exactly which services are included in their deal, and which ones aren't."
