RIM working to censor BlackBerry browsing in Indonesia

Research In Motion says it’s working to restrict access to pornographic websites for BlackBerry customers in Indonesia. The Indonesian government had threatened to close RIM’s service if porn sites weren’t blocked. Government communications and information technology minister Tifatul Sembiring has also asked that RIM puts a server in Indonesia that’ll enable messages to be intercepted when authorised by law.

It’s estimated that up to two million people currently use BlackBerry devices in Indonesia.
