UK Uncut targets Vodafone shops with Christmas campaign

Protest group UK Uncut, which objects to government spending cuts on the grounds they’re unfair and unnecessary, says it’ll be targeting Vodafone shops as part of a ‘Christmas Special’ protest this Saturday (17th December 2011). It had asked people to vote for their preferred target, with thousands taking part online.

UK Uncut claims that Vodafone has avoided paying £6 billion in tax; a claim the network operator denies. It describes Vodafone as its ‘Christmas Turkey’ and is pledging to close Vodafone shops on Saturday with its protests.
