Nikon signs Android-related patent agreement with Microsoft

Nikon Corporation is the latest company to sign a patent licensing agreement with Microsoft. It covers a number of Nikon cameras that use the Android platform. Full details aren’t being disclosed, although Microsoft has announced it’ll receive royalties from Nikon.

David Kaefer, general manager of Intellectual Property Licensing at Microsoft, said “Microsoft and Nikon have a long history of collaboration, and this agreement further demonstrates the value that both companies place on responsible IP licensing. Microsoft is proud to align with a leader in the digital camera industry to license Android technology for the benefit of Nikon’s customers.”
