Orange says 3G ‘dongle’ subscriptions up 500%

Orange has published its fifth Digital Media Index today, giving details of how its UK customers are using digital media. It says the number of mobile broadband subscriptions using 3G ‘dongles’ has increased by 504% in the last 12 months, with dongle data usage up by 4,125% since December’s report. Data usage via mobile handsets has increased by 108%. Other usage is also up: music and video downloads have both increased by 38%, game downloads are up by 8% while social networking sites have seen a 129% increase in monthly page impressions and a 48% increase in unique users.
