RIM buys Dash Navigation

BlackBerry manufacturer RIM has bought Dash Navigation. Dash had previously made a GPS sat nav device that connected with other devices to offer real-time traffic updates on your chosen route, but the company shifted its focus last year to concentrate on its software. Rival manufacturer Nokia also moved into mapping when it bought NAVTEQ in 2008. [Sources: WashingtonPost.com; InformationWeek.com]
